Education and community work have run alongside Priscila's artistic career for as long as she has been making work, across schools, universities, organizations, and professional training for artists and teachers. She develops curriculum and facilitates workshops within long-standing collaborations, and speaks regularly at conferences. This page records the programs and initiatives she is part of.

Priscila leads the performing arts strand of the Creative Futures Project, working across both ends of the program: training artists placed in primary schools, and teaching at tertiary level, where she brings creative practice into arts schools and departments. Her work connects teachers, artists, and students around a shared creative practice.
This is where the work begins — and sometimes ends.
Small exercises, daily observations, experiments that don't yet know what they are. Conversations with artists, encounters with strangers, images that won't leave. Practice here means something specific: not rehearsal for the real work, but the real work in its most honest form.
"Move with the Silver Flow" is a three-year dance and well-being project organized by Passoverdance, fusing dance with four other art disciplines. Priscila works as a music artist within the project, guiding the senior community through music making and dance exploration, and composing the music for their final showcase performance.
AlpPla, directed by Priscila Chu, is the experiential learning partner within the Compassionate Children Program, an initiative of The D.H. Chen Foundation presented by School of Everyday Life, and is part of the program's Co-learning Community. Priscila leads a team of artists delivering the program to primary 1 to 3 students.
Curated by Arts Platform, this tripartite project examines how teaching informs artistic output. It comprises Teaching As Research; a Series of Online Dialogues, four discussions with five internationally based arts practitioners and scholars on methodology, creativity, and education in collaborative arts; and an Original Piece of Collaborative Artwork, drawing on literature research, creative media, and music.
As Flower, As Water, As Mother was an art-in-action research project centered on 100 Hong Kong mothers. Sixteen artists, including Priscila, took part across three phases: a period of classes and exploration, interviews with the mothers through a "draw and tell" method, and a residency in which each artist developed an original piece.

Sponsored by the Jean CK Ho Family Foundation, Arts Platform brought sixty children from St. Bonaventure Catholic Primary School and Ma On Shan St. Joseph's Primary School into an eight-hour online art project during COVID, closing with an online sharing of their work with the senior community at Kwong Yum Care Home.

Arts Platform collaborated with the Hong Kong Federation of Women's Centres on a twelve-session integrated arts program for children from single-parent families, sponsored by RDH. Children experienced a range of art forms, shared their learning with the elderly at Kwong Yum Care Home, and attended a performance of The Nutcracker by the Hong Kong Ballet.
Project Reborn (2021)
Community Program
AlpPla collaborated with Kwong Yum Care Home to bring music to its senior residents through Project Reborn, funded by the Hang Seng Bank – Regeneration Society Top Ten Regeneration Warriors Programme. The program ran private, small-group, and large-group sessions, growing to include a Christmas concert, online sessions connecting participants with children, and a performance in which residents shared their own enjoyment of music with others.
Jockey Club "In Search of Voice in a Cramped City" Dance Education Programme is a three-year dance education program organized by Passoverdance, fusing contemporary dance with four other art disciplines. Priscila works as a music artist within the program, helping youth explore communication through movement and sound. The programme won the 2022 Hong Kong Dance Award for Outstanding Dance Education.

Performing the World (PTW) is a biannual conference and global network of performance practitioners exploring the power of performance and play to reimagine how the world is made. Priscila spoke at the 2020 conference.
Sm-ART Youth Project (2012-2020)
Key Arts Educator
Sm-ART Youth brings sustained, multi-interdisciplinary arts education to underprivileged primary school students through AFTEC, sponsored by the Jean CK Ho Family Foundation. Each year explored a different arts objective rather than a fixed discipline, delivered through weekly classes, cultural days, and volunteer training. As the key educator, Priscila led the program's arts classes, working alongside guest artists brought in throughout, as well as teaching interns, volunteers, and parents. The project was cited by Korea's KACES as a Best Practice Model and recognized as a Star Project under UNESCO's Arts in Education Observatory.
