Priscila Chu is a composer particularly interested in collaborative/ multidisciplinary art. Her integrating approach also applies to her educational program. About Me Priscila Chu is a composer and multi-disciplinary artist whose passion lies in the fusion of different art forms through collaboration. She believes that art is not just an outcome but a practice of connection—a way to cultivate understanding, challenge perceptions, and create new ways of experiencing the world. Her recent works are known for their human-centered and conceptually rich nature, engaging audiences in meaningful and unexpected ways. Her work is characterized by its ever-evolving interdisciplinary nature, constantly shifting and responding to the people, spaces, and ideas involved. Whether composing for contemporary performance, integrating movement with sound, or engaging with visual and theatrical elements, she seeks to break boundaries between disciplines, allowing them to converse and transform one another. From a young age, Priscila immersed herself in piano and dance. Later, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music from York University, a Master’s in Education (Psychology) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a PhD from Hong Kong Baptist University, where she explored the power of Collaborative Arts and Music Composition. She is an educator dedicated to expanding access to the arts, using creative practices to bridge communities, disciplines, and learning spaces. She founded AlpPla and Arts Platform, which are dedicated to researching, curating, and producing arts programs that foster dialogue across aesthetic ideas. "Collaborative art is not just the merging of disciplines—it is a conversation, a moment of exchange where new possibilities emerge and redefine the creative experience." – Priscila Chu
