Priscila Chu is a composer particularly interested in collaborative/ multidisciplinary art. Her integrating approach also applies to her educational program. About Me Priscila Chu is a composer and interdisciplinary artist working across sound, movement, visual media, and performance. Collaboration in her practice functions as a compositional strategy—bringing together different art forms so they can interact, reshape one another, and form new artistic languages. Moving beyond instrumental composition, her work spans dance theatre, music–visual works, music theatre, and interactive installations. She approaches art as a living process rather than a fixed outcome—an evolving field of relationships through which perception can be shaped and reimagined. Her works are human-centered and conceptually grounded, often emerging through intimate, immersive encounters that invite audiences into shifting states of attention and awareness. At the core of her practice are questions about how we experience the world and construct meaning within it. She engages with themes such as identity, perception, the digital condition, and information overload, creating works that move between the visceral and the reflective. For Priscila, aesthetics is not ornamentation but a fundamental mode of sensing, understanding, and relating to contemporary life. Her artistic practice extends beyond the production of works into a way of being—where sensitivity, process, and attention shape how one moves through the world. Her educational and community-based projects grow from this ethos, forming spaces where collaboration becomes a shared mode of inquiry and experience. Priscila holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from York University, a Master’s in Education (Psychology) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and a PhD from Hong Kong Baptist University, where she researched collaborative arts and music composition. “Collaborative art is not just the merging of disciplines—it is a conversation, a moment of exchange where new possibilities emerge and redefine the creative experience.” — Priscila Chu

Creative Continuum : Arts Practice My practice drifts through the everyday—gathering from moments, spaces, and the people I meet. It reaches beyond craft or technique, shaped by observing, improvising, researching, writing, and sharing. Every interaction and idea becomes part of the same current, where art and life move together. Arts Practice 2025-26 Five Artists at Work: How Artists Think, Month by Month

Arts Practice Experiment 2025-26 Five Artists at Work: How Artists Think, Month by Month (2025-26) This page presents an ongoing, month-by-month experiment in arts practice involving five artists and arts practitioners. Each cycle begins with a shared theme, used as a framework for inquiry rather than a fixed brief. Through observation, interpretation, reflection, and association, each artist responds in their own language—image, movement, sound, or thought. The works gathered here are traces of these explorations, revealing an unfolding practice shaped by different disciplines, sensibilities, and modes of attention. Participating artists: Dick Lai (visual artist), Cally Yip (dance artist), Jess Kong (visual artist), Andrew Fong (art administrator), and Priscila Chu (composer).

- Shoes Priscila | Priscila Chu
Pairs (2025 Nov) The exercise starts by looking down— shoes first, always shoes— guessing who might be inside them. age, job, intention, a small story invented too quickly. Then the guessing softens into observing: who is wearing what, At this moment, in this place? Is there a trace to follow, or only a trend passing through? Sneakers in a performing arts theatre, leather shoes strolling through a park. and when there is a lot to walk— a march, a tourist route, an airport, on a bus... distance insisting on the body— What do they choose then? It turns out it isn’t really about where or when, It’s about who. The attention drops again, from shoes to walking. how they move, how they hesitate. one pair becomes two people, Four shoes negotiating a rhythm. some steps rush, some slow, some soles still stiff and new, others worn into knowing each other for a very long time. on and on it goes. listen to this step— Who do you think it is? and then, quietly, These shoes start to remind me of where I was, and where I am now, step by step.
